I have a Ti Powerbook, and it only has ONE firewire port.

But I use a firewire HD that has a "through" port on it ...

if I plug in an iSight into this port, will it work as efficiently as if it was plugged straight into the computer?

Thanks!

Try a search. Because there are significant and serious issues with iSight camera's and external HD's which have been discussed here before.

Here's a head start..

I can second the call for caution after experiencing the aforementioned iSight external HD problems myself. Find a hub (you may still have problems though) or just use it by itself.

I absolutely love the damn thing when I use it, so I would still get one!!

I had problems running my iSight through my Firewire CD burner. I wouldn't do it.

No problems here even when burning to the cdrw that the iSight is connected to. (Formac 16x writer) Hell, they're both both powered and neither has to be on for the other to work.

(Not to contradict other reports, just providing one more data point.)
