"Hey, get me, I look like Locutius of Borg... If he was a dork"

Valuetastic (79.99 US$). My grand mal wussy ears whisper "forgot we're wearing it". Looong battery life. Perfectly acceptable (if a bit fuzzy) audio on my end, "it's fine, will you stop asking me now?" on the other. You can wear it with glasses. It only pairs with one device at a time, so, for the moment, it's shacking up with my phone. Haven't tried to pair it with a Mac, though I hear that doesn't work.

If you're keeping score at home, I'd say Howie either got a bum unit or is conducting tests inside a microwave.

Product linky.

i had one of these for a while. the idea is great, but the implementation sux. the battery life of the holster was fine, but the earpiece was like 40 minutes of talk time! i had a few phone calls that were 30 minutes and they drained the thing. while i don't expect it to work for days on end, it was just unrealistic to have to charge my earpiece like 4 times a day in order to keep using it!

also, they tend to have a serious echo that can be reduced, but not eliminated.

in the end i took it back and got the new jabra headset that is on a little winder thingy. then i lost that.... damn. but it was cool nonetheless.

The dreaded YMMV...

I'm getting much better battery life. 4 or 5 days standby. Couple hours of talk.

I've noticed the echo too, but it goes away if I have the phone on the same side of my body as the earpiece. It likes a clear line of sight.

There are definitely some downsides to this unit, but it was a good $50-$200 cheaper than the competition when I bought it. I'd also be really surprised too if any of the competition were as comfy.

Trawling through the Expansys site, I find some newer units that are priced similarly.

Happy hunting!

I also have this headset. Don't use it that much, but when I do it works fine. I too wish the battery life was much longer, but as I said, I don't use it all that much.
