Granted this really doesn't mean crap now because we all know about it already but, I stumbled across the TV ad for the G5 http://www.apple.com/hardware/ads/g5/
this was played right after the G5 was announced and in it they are using a Apple Bluetooth keyboard. These were not announced until Sep 16 long after the ad was aired. From now on I will pay more attention to thier ads!

What's even more intesting is the lack of wires, period! Can a wireless 20" Cinema Display be in the plans?!! What about wireless power!

Yeah, just what you want in the vicinity of your reproductive organs while computing -- microwave power transmission.

I didn't even notice that the first time I watched it. Oh well I thought I found something, I guess it's just Apple trying to make a good first impression by not haveing clutered up wires

Note that the guy is holding a corded white mouse, but the computer only has a cord-free white keyboard by it.

I think Apple will never lack any news of their coming products. you can find the "cordless" mouse and keyboard in old Power Mac G4 (QuickSilver) intro video and cube TV Ads too.

yeah i think it was just for the sake of a sleek, clean-looking picture, to emphasize the contrast between the blown-apart house and debris and this perfect glowing machine sitting at the end of the path of destruction...

..or maybe i'm just making that up

Another case where Apple revealed a new product before its release was in 1984. On January 22nd, two days before the release of the Macintosh, they aired that famous "1984" ad. In the ad, the woman carrying the sledgehammer was wearing a shirt that had the Picasso Macintosh logo on it. If you play it frame-by-frame it's actually quite evident. I doubt anyone actually picked up on this in the two days leading up to the introduction of the Mac, though... considering it was only aired once during prime-time TV (it was aired again at 1 AM in Idaho somewhere to qualify for some advertisement award).

EDIT: I bet if there were rumor sites and QuickTime back then, everyone would have downloaded the episode and noticed the strange logo within ten minutes

Ugh... no, it's not the wireless keyboard in that ad.

The Apple Keyboard (the one that first shipped with the eMac, not the Pro Keyboard) looks exactly the same as the wireless keyboard, and just because the wires weren't visible doesn't mean they weren't there. In this case, the wire was probably off to the right.
