I have a 3G 20gb iPod and I was wondering if anybody else has one that hangs for a couple of moments when skipping forward several songs?

Is that normal?

Also, my friend explained that the only problem with the iPods other than acts of total stupidity are bad sectors in the hard drive...is there any way to check your sectors?

Thanks

The hangs are normal, it has to spin up the HD to load the new tracks if they are not in it's RAM.

You can use a disk utility to check the ipod when it is mounted on the desktop.
