Apple have at last delivered the update to iCal and iSync so that we can now use our P800 phones fully.
I have done a full sunc today and I now have all my calendars on my P800.
They are all in the same calendar of course as the P800 does not support the 'multiple calendars' feature like iCal.
If you add a new item to your P800 it will go into a predefined calendar in iCal (default is Home)

I've just got it working as well. It took three goes to synchronise completely - Ihave nearly 1,000 addresses and a big calendar. Now it's updated, the synching works very well.
The error messages are more useful as well. My P800 had stopped synching recently and iSync now reminds that port 3004 must be open in the friewall for sync to work. I opened the port and everything was hunky dory.
Happy again

Best new phone is the Sony Z600 that is soon to be released. Look into that one.

Yeah. At last
Now my P800 has finally become genuinely useful as a PDA. A very welcome update... has been a long time coming tho.

I did, and while the Z600 looks cool, it doesn't seem to be as versatile or full-featured as the P900 (successor to the P800, also soon to be released).
Besides, since my P800 is only about six months old, I think I'll just stick with that for now

Just got the SE Z600...
Wow!
Paid a pretty penny for it on eBay but so far it is worth every one.
Very nice construction and feel. Feels expensive.
Great screen. Nice menu system (same as T610, 616, and upcoming 630 I think).
Nice buttons....big and well-placed.
Bluetooth works fine. Got the plan with Tmobile for wireless modem to the Powerbook. iSync working great.
My old chargers work fine since SE has been using the same plug for several years now.
Changeable covers are cool too.

Have no problems with making a GPRS connection using my P800. I just wish that Internet Connect would show some traffic stats instead of just time connected. I could work out how much it was costing me then.
Hmmm.... haven't asked Apple for that yet, off to the feedback page....

You can see how much data you have transferred on your P800, by looking at the GPRS logs.
Go to :-
GPRS Data log on the main menu
Then select the GPRS Service you use, I use Orange GPRS, don't tick the box, just click on the text.
You will then be shown a screen that has the total data sent and received, and the last data sent and received amounts.

Yeah, you can also see the amount during the session on the phone by tapping the little world and selecting information. I'd just like to see it clocking up on the menu bar instead of the time connected. It would be nice to log it on the computer too.
I guess what I'm after is for the computer to do all of the work for me so that I can just extract the information I need later. Maybe I'm being naive, but isn't that what computers are supposed to do?
Thanks anyway,
Mick
