I am looking for one, possibly two printers.

It has been a long time since I have looked at printers and ink jets have certainly become more popular (I last bought a printer when Apple made lasers).

I would like a networkable (Ethernet) B&W laser with Postscript and at least 600dpi, as I use Quark to design ads.

I also need a good color inkjet with Postscript (I think this is mostly in software, though Epson used to have some options). This would mainly be used for color proofs.

Letter size is fine for both.

Any real world comments are appreciated.

You could probably kill two birds with one stone and you are willing to spend about $2500 for a good color laser. Recommendation Xerox 6250. This printer is rated at 26 in black and white and 26 in color and uses postscript level 3. Check it out, I don't think you will be dissapointed.
