Hi all.

I have a SE T610 that will be here on monday. My service provider is t-mobile. Can anyone tell me
a) how complex the bluetooth sync process is
b) how well the thing works as an organizer
c) what kinds of things the phone is able to do
d) do I need to have some kind of special package to check email and all that?
e) do I have to have a special package to use it to browse the web/use it as a modem for my powerbook?

I've never had a phone that could, you know, DO STUFF, so I'm just kind of curious about what kinds of capabilities the thing has.

Thanks in advance. I guess I'm just looking for some general introduction to the phone and its capabilities.

Cheers
Scott

Pair the phone and the computer, then the phone will show up in iSync. Open iSync, configure the phone to sync what you want (specific iCal calendars, Phone groups, etc) Finally, choose "Sync Now". Each time you want to sync the phone, open iSync and choose "Sync Now"

b) how well the thing works as an organizer

Works fine for me. Shows iCal events and Address Book entries.

c) what kinds of things the phone is able to do

It can call people, for one. It's also a camera, has games, is an organizer, and can check your email.

d) do I need to have some kind of special package to check email and all that?

Yes, you need T-Mobile's T-Zones service. $10/month for unlimited WAP browsing and email checking.

e) do I have to have a special package to use it to browse the web/use it as a modem for my powerbook?

Not really, you'll need the Ericsson GSM modem script (google for it), and to set your machine up to use the Bluetooth Modem port when dialing out.

Cheers.

Anyone know what the plans are like for Cingular Wireless? I'd like to be able to browse the web and check my e-mail with my T610. I checked Cingular's website and it was kind of cryptic. Is there any unlimited data use for Cingular like T-Mobile?

Can any T610 users tell me how easy it is to access/add calendar items on the phone?? Also, would anyone mind clarifying the address book limitations mentioned above? Specifically, what all is displayed i.e: Contact name, phone number(s?), addresses(?) and how easy is it to edit that info on the go.

Thanks a ton in advance.

Kevin
