The French Apple store has slipped up and posted a small graphic on the store home page advertising the new iPod accessories. It states :

"iPod: New Accessories!: Record your voice and store more than music."

It is a link also but clicking on it take you to an unknown URL.

So it looks like we will be getting some accesories today !

No the iPod didn’t have voice recording functions but I believe people that were digging around in firmware found some preliminary work on supporting such a feature. I suppose the other accessory will be a chip reader of some sort for a digital camera. At least that is what Think Secret is saying.

ThinkSecret

"Sources said the peripherals will include an iPod-compatible microphone as well as an image card reader. Through the firmware update, iPod Software 2.1, users will be able to use the new accessories to record voice memos and store digital photos.

iTunes 4.1, an update to Apple's jukebox software, will enable users to share music between Mac and Windows computers"

Wow. Just wow. This is going to be truly amazing for anyone using iTunes on a campus network. There's no way that I could ever make it through all the music available on my network NOW, and that's just Mac users. I can't imagine how amazing this is going to be if we can share with Windows.
