I'm in the market for a new photo printer (up to about $300) to replace my Epson Stylus 880. I'm looking for something that has top-notch OS X drivers... Espon's are sometimes very lacking. Plus all the usual refinements (border-free printing, mutiple ink tanks, etc).
Any suggestions?

You'll never go back to Epson.

Any sense as to whether the Canon photo printers have Panther drivers?

I am using the 10.2 drivers and they work exactly the same in 10.3. That is something you will never see happen with an Epson or HP.

Thanks, Immortal. I think I'll go get one. I see Canon has a new photo ink jet now: the i960 just released this month at $199.

Many thanks!
Any one know anything about the i960? Is it just an updated i950, or is it a different printer altogether?

Does Canon have a printer that prints to CDs yet? Epson's drivers for my 785EPX are bugging me, and my next printer needs to have CD printing capability. Right now, the Epson 960 looks to be it for me, but I'd consider Canon if they had a decent offering.

I couldn't find any. I just ordered the Epson Photo 960. I would've, too, considered a Canon if they offered it.

I believe that the i860 and i960 printers are sold in Europe and Australasia (if not elsewhere) as the i865 and i965, and come complete with a tray and software for printing CDs. See this review
Whether you can buy the American versions and then add on the CD printing capability I don't know. Mind you, as the printers will probably cost half the price in the USA compared to these other places, you can afford to.

From the review that you linked to:
The CD-R/DVD printing option is not available on the i860 printer (US market), this is a Patents issue and beyond Canon's control.
Too bad--for us in the U.S., anyway.
