My new 20 GB iPod is awesome! Now, what have others done to dump their old CD players and connect it directly to a receiver? Buy another cradle and permanently wire it as an input? Does it play through the cradle?

Any other ideas?

That's your best bet: get another cradle, and a quality mini-to-RCA cable, and enjoy your listening!

You could also get another dock-FW cable and use your charging brick so that when ever your iPod is plugged into the stereo dock it also charges.

I never used the dock near my computer, I always just plugged right into the machine. I left the dock down by the stereo and hooked up a headphone to stereo RCA cable into my receiver. Used the wall adaptor to power it and shabang! I had a 10,000 song addition to my stereo. Most of the time it just sits there charging, but whenever I get new music I sync it up to my machine.
