I have just ordered the Lacie d2 160gb firewire 400 drive to sit next to my RevA PB17.

I plan to use it for backups and storage of mp3/m4p/AACs, iDVD/iMovie projects, and maybe photos.

So, once the drive arrives, I have some choices to make. Such as partitioning, and what size partitions, what software to use (i.e., Retrospect, or just AppleScripts).

I'm sure there are plenty of you out there that hav egone through all this before. So, I'm asking for recommendations on what to do to the drive.

Here is my current plan:

Partition the 160gb into a 60gb and 100gb partition. the 60gb will serve to hold the backups, while the 100gb will hold other data (music, etc). I also want to make the drive be bootable, and this will almost certianly contain Jaguar while my internal drive will welcome Panther.

Is there anything I ought to know before making these decisions? Any suggested means to go about it all? Software recommendations?
