Hey all,
I won an auction on eBay, but am unsure if what I won will actually work on my G3. I'm not saying the vendor is being misleading, it's just that I don't see how this works. I won a "ATI Radeon 7000 64 MB PCI Mac Edition - FAST!" and when I inquired about not seeing this card anywhere on the internet, I got this:

- The Card is actually a PC card that has been updated with the Mac ROM (Software on the Card). This software allows the computer to be able to see the card. The card are exactly the same with the exception of the ROM. This card is a faster version of the Radeon 7000 32M because it has 64M of ram.

Again, I'm not saying the seller lied to me, but is this ROM updating valid and workable in a B&W G3?

Thanks,
BD

Well, it might sort of work, but ROM flashing is a bit dodgy and has some issues associated with it -- it was false advertising, and that's illegal.

I would tell him to piss off, its not what you thought it was. From what posts I've seen on various flashed PC Radeons people have been getting flicker issues.

Well,
It's off... but I paid twice the auction fee to the seller just to get the transaction off of my back.
