I need some help, i know that jaguar could not easily handle windows shared printers, but panther promised to fix this.

Well it was much easier to ADD my printer, the powerbook found it shared and automatically installed the drivers. BUT

i attempted to print and i get 1 page of garble and then a whole bunch of blank pages.

What gives?

Hey, I just set this up on the Windows USB printer at work. I had failed to select the appropreate printer from the drop down list so generic printer was selected by default; I got the garbled mess. After I deleted the printer and then reselecting it, I found my printer in the drop down list and all was well.

Good luck to you.

Seemingly Panther only finds Windows shared printers if their names are sufficiently short.

This is presumably a limitation of Samba but is still rather cheap.
