Hi everyone!

I am now the proud new owner of an iPod (yes, I'm one of those types that pinched the cash together and am living on bread and water for a month now--but am happy nevertheless). So far, I haven't sprung for a 3rd party case yet and have been using the Apple case. For that reason (and because I find it somewhat unwieldy to pull out the iPod while walking places), I usually queue up a playlist, put the iPod back in the case, and then use the remote. Unfortunately, I seem to have trouble figuring out what to do with all of the cable. Right now I have a fair amount of the remote cable rubber-banded up and stuffed in my pocket while walking around and the rest of the cable wired up under my shirt. This works ok, but that rubber-banded mess gets annoying at times and there's still quite a bit of loose cable. Has anyone out there had any bright solutions to overcoming this problem? Original remote placement that uses up more cable? something I haven't thought of? Any ideas are very welcome! Thanks!

This is a highly annoying design flaw on Apple's part - i.e. the headphones have enough cable to be used without the remote.

Sony do a range of earphones with short cords that are ideal for use with remotes

I have another question... What if I wanted to mount my remote in a location that is almost 1.5x the distance of the remote's original length... Trying to get a clean factory install type look here. Would I be able to cut a remote line and splice into another remote? Not sure if anyone's already tried, but it's worth a shot.

Rey :)
