Hi, are there any decent digital cams which double as firewire (or USB) webcams? I've been searching the net for a while and the only cams which aparently have both functions are really crappy.. the "best" one ive found is a fuji, but it seems pretty lame.. Besides that one all the others are crap-tastic as in sub $50.. Do any well known companies such as Canon, Sony, or others make dual-modes? Thanks

You'll find that many cameras have this function, but few, if any work as a webcam on the Mac. The drivers are Windows only.

You can reuse MiniDV cameras as FW web cams, and some of these will have digital camera capability.

All the digital still cameras I've seen with webcam abilities are the very low resolution ones. I suppose this is because web cams are low resolution. And they're all USB 1.1, that I've seen.

I think you'll just need two cameras.
