you can install the gimp-print drivers for panther (they're on one of the discs and are an option [or default?] during installation.

gimp-print should have drivers for just about everything out there. check the 'supported printers page here to find out.

It's a PostScript printer, which means that all you need to run it is the PPD, which is cross-platform (at least they're supposed to be).

Go to Xerox.com, click on support & drivers, and follow the instructions to get the drivers for your printer.

according to xerox the jaguar drivers do the trick. thx.

What, pray tell, do they mean by "drivers"? The PPDs?

It's a PostScript printer -- it uses the system's own PS printer driver, with the appropriate PPD to tell it what functions the printer has.
