Back in the days before the iPod, Apple touted iTunes syncing with 3rd party MP3 players. Does this feature still exist? I could see why Apple would stop mentioning it now that they are selling the iPod though...

The menu item, Shop for iTunes products is still there but the page it presents has no mention of any music players other than iPod. I think this functionality must have suffered a quiet death somewhere along the line.

Well, for whatever it's worth, my old Rio 500 still works with the latest iTunes. MP3 files only, of course.

Now I couldn't make it work under iTunes for Windows. That may be an iPod only thing.

My Rio 800 still works along with the iPod. Does anyone know if the Nomad players work with iTunes 4.1? The colorful Nomad resembling those removable USB stick drives is pretty cool - nice and tiny.

That's true, wouldn't it beifit thrid parties to write plugins for iTunes on at least windows and then tout it as a feature? Right now, iTunes is way in the lead.

Apparently Creative is planning on supporting iTunes for their mp3 players.

A smart move if you ask me. That Pepsi promo is really going to do a lot for awareness too. I hope Apple will continue with similiar promos after that.
