I was thinking - PowerBooks are now all aluminium, PowerMac is now aluminium, iSight is aluminium, screens will soon allegedly be aluminium to suite the new machines, new iBooks have aluminium top, iMac is being redesigned and will likely be Apple's new aluminium look...

Wonder if we'll see a new aluminium iPod design in January?

i DOUBT, very very DOUBT!

I don't think we will se an ALUMINUM designed iMac! and , the iBook tops are NOT aluminum, they are purely plastic.

iMacs and iBooks have always been different than Powerbooks and Powermacs. They will remain to have Great, UNIQUE designs, which attracts lots of customers, where many of them JUST BUY the machines BECause of their GREAT LOOKS and DESIGNS!

I can't say anything about iPods, but I guess they will follow the lines of iMac and iBook!

WHERE THE DESIGN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE POWER!

That'll teach me for making an assumption. So are they coloured grey perhaps? The shots I've seen of them at a glance look metal.

Well as I said, it was just a thought... nothing wrong with that.

No, the iBooks are all white. The shots you have seen probably just have odd lighting. iMac, iBook and iPod are all designed very similarly. Think of them as companion pieces. Where the PowerBook and Power Mac (and maybe even the iSight) can be seen as companion pieces. (Speaking in terms of their design.)
