My friend asked what is the best mp3 player to get for windows, so I said the iPod....

I figured with firewire and itunes now on PC, it should work just as cool as mine does.

Are there any other choices she should consider?

Also, it say you can use the ipod with windows or pc now...

So do you have to format the drive or does it just work?
Can I lend her my apple one to play with?

I would think you should at least look at the Dell DJ. 15GB for $249. Reviewers say it has better battery life than iPod.

I have a bunch of AAC files from the iTMS, so I want an iPod (but hate the price).

Do you like this friend? If so, then, no there is no other choice. She can't use anything else with iTunes.
