Have to do a phone interview. Is it possible to record the conversation via telephone line into a PowerBook with some audio software? After that, convert the recorded phone conversation into a .wav file?

If not possible? What are the other methods? What audio hardware should I buy together with whatever audio software to perform the same thing?

Thanks. Much appreciated.

Not a PowerBook-specific topic.

Radio Shack (and, I imagine, any electronics parts stores) used to have a little suctioncup attaching mic... went on the outside of the ear part of the handset.

If you could get ahold of one of those, you could probably line-in it to your Pbook, and pick up the signal using Peak or Ambrosia's WireTap. Then convert to whatever...

There's prolly a more elegant solution, though...

I have NOT yet used what I am suggesting, but I have heard that it works well.

An Olympus DM-20 digital voice recorder with the phone accessory bought extra for a few dollars. Cost should be about $300.

Then, a Giffen iMic or Powerwave depending on what you want to do. From $39-$99 depending on which you buy.

This should do the trick.

Let us know if you find out differently.
In fact, please post to my mailbox if you find out differently.

Regards,
charlie
