the first reason is that USB carries power as well as data, while Bluetooth is only data. Most USB devices use their own power source, but for the ones that don't, this wouldn't work.
Second, USB has a much higher transfer rate (16 times faster or so) than Bluetooth, meaning that it would be a bottleneck for devices that need higher transfer rates.
the only possibility i could see is a USB device that you plug into the wall and into your peripheral, and it provides it with power and converts the signal to bluetooth, but even then, i'm sure other problems would arise (in addition to the one mentioned above)
