im looking at getting cheap dvd and burner and i cant understand whats so diff between a mac and a pc that dvd burners can be universal like hardrives are. if i can install the same IDE hardrive on my mac and pc than why cant i install the same IDE burner?

Go to http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ and you will find all the info you need. I just installed a NEC 1300 for $113. am waiting to try it out this weekend. Have burned a couple of Super video CD and have had no problems. Am using Toast 6 & 5.
