I'm borrowing my friend's iSight for the weekend because I need to RECORD video onto my hard drive (I have a 12" PowerBook B). I was going to use either EvoCam 3.2 or iRecordNow. However, neither sees my iSight. iRecordNow tells me "iSight could not be found. Either it is not connected to your computer or it is used by another application." EvoCam simply shows no video, as if no iSight is connected to my computer.

When I plug it into the firewire port the little green light on top of the iSight comes on briefly, and I hear a noise, and that is all. I am new to macs so I don't know if I am supposed to install drivers, or if it should just work, or what. If somebody could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. And just as a side note, I do NOT have iChat AV installed (I think I read somewhere that that installs the driver). Is this my problem? If so, how do I get around it?

Thanks!!
Chris

Do you have the little mounting clips on BOTH ends of the firewire cable?

You need iChat to install the necessary drivers. Get it still here (expires 12/03):
