I recently bought this Samsung printer and in trying it out, I found it did a good job of printing text. However, when I tried printing charts (created in DeltaGraph), it printed these horrible patterns in place of grayscale shading. Is this because it's a non-postscript printer? My Lexmark Optra E310 (a postscript printer) does a fine job on the same charts. Is there a setting or something else one can do to get it to print greyscale shades properly?

I just bought this printer too. In both OS 9 and X text is nice and sharp.
In OS X I loaded gimp-print and am using the 1210 ppd. I just tried a jpeg file (colour) and it did a very nice greyscale print.

I have not tried pictures/graphs from OS 9
