Maybe something is wrong with your included batteries. I've used mine all day since Sept 19th and only had to replace the battery once.

I have two. One has displayed the behavior you speak of, one has not. I popped in new batteries on the quick-drain mouse (Duracell Ultras) and they seem to be draining at an acceptable rate.

I'm continuing observation, and am ready to check that critter into the Apple store if it shows the slightest sign of flakiness.

Current working diagnosis: came with a pair of dud batteries.

Now that I have the keyboard and mouse I finally bought rechargeables. All I can say is a famous quote by a former President or someone "It's the batteries, stupid".
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7), 1.6 GHz, Core i5, 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3, 128 GB SSD, 24" LED ACD, 1TB Time Capsule (late 2009), IOS4 ATV, 16GB iPhone 4

I was thinking this myself, but my first mouse, has so far been spectacular in the battery life department. It's been running since a few days after the Paris Stevenote and is at, hold on, let me check...

80%!!!

I'm almost thinking these are mutant super-batteries or something.

a question to those of you who use bluetooth-mouse. Can you at the same time use your bluetooth mouse and have your mobile (ericsson t68i for example) connect to address book or even salling clicker?
