Problem : Synchronize iCal calendars (events + all day events + to do's) accurately with a Palm OS. Accurately means : iCal calendars are traslated as "categories" into the Palm OS. I use a Palm Zire, but the synchronizing is mediocre, I mean, all the calendars to do's are stored in a unique category. Also, the all-day events are only stored the first day of the event.

Questions :

- I know that the Palm Tungsten T3 and Tungsten E have an updated DateBook, which uses colors and categories for the events. Have you experience with syncking that kind of Palms with iCal?

- Is there a way to transfer "calendars" to "categories"?

- What is your experience with iCal and cell-phones? Is a cell-phone a better companion of iCal?

- What is the perfect match of iCal?

Thank you very much for your help.

I'm very intersted to hear peoples experience with this, too - I am currently tossing up the idea of purchasing a Tungsten T3, but I've heard that the Mac support is "lacking".

You may want to check out the message boards at www.palminfocenter.com.

Cheers,

iSync hasn't equated Calendars to Categories for any device I've used (Palm M505, Palm M515, T68i, P800). This is something I provide feedback about everytime there is a update to iSync that doesn't contain this feature.

The only real advantage is that you can trigger the sync from iSync rather than having to remember to trigger it from the device. With my current phone (P800) I still have the category/calendar problem. iSync asks which calendar device created events should be moved into.

I hope Apple releases that feature in the future updates, I think that it's incredible the absence of that simple thing.

Other missing feature : A command to select all calendars, and viceversa in iCal. I'm feeling stupid each time that I must turn-off my calendars one by one.

Just hold down the apple key as you click on any of the calendar's "check box" and they all go on or off. It's just like selecting/deselecting multiple songs in iTunes!!
