You might consider GCC's color laser. Their products usually work well with OS X.

IMO, the undisputed king of color laser printers is the Xerox Phaser series.

I've been hugely disappointed by HP's color laser offerings (quite in contrast to their black and white lasers).

Not sound like an echo, but Xerox/Tektronix Phasers series for color. HP for strictly b&w text, office workhorse.
I, ASIMO.

Consider Oki, really good laser printers. Depending on what you want to spend, you can buy the 5300: Postscript, expandable, a lot faster than any of the others (12 ppm in color, 20 ppm in BW in A4).

I will be the third individual who will sound off for Xerox. And I was HP rep in the past. The problem here is that HP printers have become cheaper while everybody else's have become better.

Well I dunno about the price of that Oki, but the Xerox Phaser 6200 series is 37 ppm, black and white or color (!) on U.S. letter paper (which is wider than A4, which should thus be slightly faster on that printer).
