My wife's Nikon uses a compact flash card. She was over at my daughter's school, and wanted to print pics out in the school lab [all Mac]. She had done this before, so no problem. Until the lab admin wanted to "help." This guy is a Wintel-weenie who "used to use a Mac." but he works cheap so he has the job. Guess what? Right away, he ran into a "problem," removed the CF card from a reader plugged into an OS 9 iMac [without first dragging it from the desktop], plugged the reader into another machine, and announced that the CF card was corrupted. Sure enough, when I popped it into my TiBook, it has clearly been reformatted, and is no longer readable by the Nikon. Anyone know of a utility that has a shot at recovering the pics on the card, before I let the Nikon reformat it? TIA.

PhotoRescue has produced some good results for me in the past, as it has gotten back images that I thought were gone for good.
