got our apple wireless mouse on friday and set it up using the batteries that came with it. it was left on and not turned off. on sunday night we got a low battery warning. that seems awfully fast.

what sort of life are folks getting out of batteries in their wireless mouses?

I started using the Apple bluetooth wireless mouse 10/7, I've maybe turned it off for a total of 2 weeks, and it's still going. I'll check battery level when I get home tonight, but I'm impressed.

I have three...

Two have yet to need a new set. One of those has been running since a few days after they were introduced. That particular mouse is still at about 80%. The other is only a week old and is still at 100%.

One exhibited exactly the behavior you describe. It was toast after two days of normal use. When those died I popped in a set of fresh Duracell Ultras. After say a couple weeks, that mouse is at 80%.

At this point, I'm diagnosing that mouse as having come with a set of dud batteries. It is draining faster than the other two, but I would surmise Lithium Energizers are better than Duracell Ultras.

The "working" Energizers are displaying such spectacular battery life, if it was the mouse that drained them, those Duracells would have been slag in a day.

P.S.: I never turn them off.

I'm down to about 90% after about 6 hours use .. I'm thinking I have a couple duds as well :-)

Any one know how to wake/reactivate the mouse connection after waking the machine from sleep? I seem to have to go into the bluetooth panel and reactivate it. Is there an easier way?

I can always get it to wake up with an impatient combination of movement, picking it up, and clicking.

If worse comes to worse I turn it off and back on, followed by impatient movement, picking up, and clicking.

Never needed to open the panel to fire it up.
