I am in the market for a scanner upgrade, so I was debating between the Epson 3200 and the Canon 9900F. I already have a Canon 1240U and I like it, so the 9900F seems like it might be a good choice. However, I've never owned an Epson scanner. Could anyone give advice about choosing between these scanners? From what I've read, both scanners produce high quality images. So, I guess some important features to me would be compatibility with Panther, transparency quality, ease of use, speed, noise. I want to use the scanner with Photoshop or PS Elements.

thanks,
tim

I just bought an Epson 3200 ($100 rebate with net cost of $270 at amazon.com) and couldn't be happier with the scans from 2 1/4 and 4x5 transparencies, they are amazing quality at that price. For Panther, DON'T use the provided CD software, download free Silverfast SE updater, for great scanning software.
