Are flash card memory USB plug in devices read only, or can you write back to the card?

These are both read and write. The computer treats them as a floppy (i.e. you can write or even delete files off the drive). Well, at least the ones I've used are, maybe you're talking about something else.

You should be able to write to them with no problem.
