I am about to buy two 20" Apple Cinema Displays and have been/am holding off a little bit due to rumors of a revamping of the display line with new G5-like enclosures, perhaps improved screen panels, etc. But I am considering just buying now.

For users of the 20" Cinema, in particular, how is the refresh / pixel response time? How does it compare to other 3rd part screens?

Thanks.

I'm in the same boat, but I'm happy to delay my purchase till July 2004.

However techincally the current 20" Cinema Displays lags behind other competitors models. For example the 20" Cinema Display only has a 25ms pixel refresh rate wheras the current cream of the crop the Dell FP2001 has a 16ms refersh rate and hence less affecting by ghosting in certain FPS games. However the Cinema Display does look better than the Dell and it also is Widescreen, whereas with the Dell it's in the standard 4:3 format.

Maybe its a good idea to hold onto your a dosh for a month or two to see if Apple does release a refresh......

It's not bad, but CRTs are still going to be better for gaming for a while... the screen refresh is still aways off, and will be for the near future.
