Hi,

I'm looking for a cool looking HD FW external enclosure, to use with my (hopefully) soon to be bought powerbook.

I've seen many links on this site, but have not found what I'm after.

Does someone have links to UK / European / Germany online shops which sell cool looking enclosures? I really don't want to have to buy from the states... will take too long.

I have bought two drives from span.com. They allow you to choose a specific drive and a specific enclosure. They have an IceCube enclosurewhich looks good. Their FW400 IceCube is the only one able to use drives over 120GB (since I last checked) and uses the Oxford 911 IDE=>Firewire bridge. I got much better performance from the Span drive with a 7200rpm 200GB drive than I did from a LaCie 200GB 7200rpm drive. LaCie drives, while looking good and cheap, don't use the standard firewire drivers (at least on OS9), and I have encountered a lot of problems with them.
