my wife's Nokia (don't know the model number, but it's the old one that everybody owns and they have a billion different face plates available for...) is dying, and she wants to get a new one. I'd like her to get a Bluetooth equipped one for obvious Mac-geeky reasons. From what I've found there are only a few that are available from Sony and Nokia, and they're mostly very expensive. Is there one or a few that are somewhat reasonably priced, like $150 or so?
Thanks

if you are springing for a new plan (which shouldn't be bad since the deadline for number portability has passed, not sure how this is playing out in practice), then t-mobile has had a deal going on amazon.com for a while where one can get a nokia 3650 for free after rebates if you sign up for a $40/month plan.

in my case, the plan was the one that looked best suited to me anyways, as it is the cheapest with unlimited night/weekend minutes, so i went for it, and am quite pleased with the phone. the camera is decent quality, the videos are poor (but what other phones even do video?), the reception is good as the howardchui.com review would suggest, and the bluetooth syncing works without a hitch with Address Book and iCal.

here's a picture taken on the phone (and post-processed a bit, i don't remember):

and here it is in action, held by one of my friends, to give an idea of its true size:

The Sony Ericsson T610/616 is a popular choice around here, and there are lots of positive posts that last time I checked. I picked one up for $49 from AT&T a couple of weeks ago and it's great! The Bluetooth works like a charm, definitely a first in my experience, and the phone itself is solidly built and looks good. You can also get this phone for free from T-Mobile.

Nokia 3650 is usually free after rebates. Has bluetooth and IR.
If after 6 months no WMD are found, people who supported the war should say ["You're right, we were wrong -- good job"] -- and move to impeach Mr. Bush."

That T610 looks mighty nice since I already have a T68i...I can't see how that thing would only by $50 though after rebate even. Especially for her since she's been an AT&T subscriber for years. she won't be able to take advantage of the rebates. We'll have to look into that.
