I'm thinking about picking up a Belkin USB Bluetooth adapter this weekend, since CompUSA has them on sale for $19.99, according to today's newspaper.
This is the model that's on sale, the F8T003: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...duct_Id=134431
Does anyone own one of these, or know anything about it? Any good/bad experiences? I only seem to have found D-Link adapters mentioned on these boards. Is there a consensus "best" Bluetooth adapter?
I'd like to use it to sync my Bluetooth phone with my iMac, and as a mobile modem hookup with my Thinkpad. If OS X ever manages Bluetooth headset support, it would also be nice to be able to use a BT headset with iChat.

I've recommended quite a few of those to customers; no one's come back to yell at me yet that it doesn't work.

Thanks, that's good to know. We're they Mac-using customers?
I figure it's probably worth the twenty bucks. Worst case, it's a POS and I throw it out. Not much lost.

I just bought this belkin usb adapter and I have had no problems. Worked instantly, no hassles... actual plug and play. Additionally, I bought a USB expansion PCI card that has an internal USB port. Plugged the Bluetooth adapter inside as if it was a PCI Bluetooth Card.

Is this adapter compatible with Apple's wireless keyboard and mouse? Or is it just the D-Link that's compatible?

it works with the apple keyboard without any problems... belkin also provides a bluetooth adapter that has a greater range besides the typical 10 meters.

Remarkable. Apple had us all convinced that only the D-Link DBT-120 would work with the Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Wireless Mouse. Tsk-tsk.
On the other hand, the Belkin is quite a bit larger than the D-Link, a factor if you're using it with a laptop and if you prefer smaller components. On the other hand, for more than half the price, it may be worth it.
I didn't see the $19.95 price on CompUSA's website. Does that mean it's an "in-store only" deal?
