iSkin Static electricity problem?

I just got an iSkin keyboard protector for my 12" iBook G4. It works fine except for the fact that it seems to build up and hold a very large amount of static electricity. When i peel the iSkin off my keyboard or adjust it, I can hear it crackling, and on the few occasions that I've removed it too quickly, my computer has frozen up completely, requiring a hard reboot.

I haven't seen anything regarding this issue on the iSkin site or anywhere else on the web. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm still waiting for their customer support to get back to me and I've since stopped using the iSkin.

I'm wondering if I'm a solitary case because this seems like a fairly severe problem and I'm sure I would have heard more about this if it was more widespread.
