Ext Drives, Had a Maxtor 120gb worked fine on pc and mac

	it was flaswless, all foreign language files trasnfered perfectly, etc. I recently got a IOGEAR 120gb which came formatted in 4 partitions. I took it down to no partitions because i like to see one large drive. Well, it works on the mac, but not on the PC. What was it about the maxtor that allowed me to use it on the pc? I did install some software on the PC, could something like Macdrive have been installed on my PC, so it was working flawlessly but I just didnt know it?
	15" PB/1.25 G4/1gb ram/80gb hd/Superdrive + special screen with white spots AND dimmer right side than left. 2 Keyboard replacements, warping Al case wobbles on a flat table, squeeks when typing...etc.etc.etc. Superb!
