I've hed a 48x Lite-On FireWire CDRW for some time now, and I'm wondering why I've always been limited to burning at 40x. I have 52x rated CDRs and a 48x drive, so that should allow me to burn at 48x, right? Or is FireWire limiting me? I'm using Toast 6.0.3.

I have a LiteOn 48125S in an external firewire case, I burn at 48x all the time in Toast and in the finder/iPhoto backups. iTunes limits Audio burns to 24 or 32x, but with data, the sky's the limit. This is on a QS DP800, 10.3.1. It's burned at full speed since I got it back in the 10.2 days. Oxford 911 chip in the generic external case too....

The bridge I'm using came in an old 8x QPS Que! Fire drive...maybe the bridge is limited. I've heard good things about the Oxford chipsets (with the exception of the 10.3.0 bug, lol)
