Amazon.com is listing a Wacom intuos2 "academic" tablet but it has no tech specs or system requirements. It's less expensive than the non-academic variety. The pictures of Intuos2 and Intuos2 Academic look identical.
Probably the academic version just like the academic versions of software that teachers and stundents can buy if they can proove that they are stundent or related to an educational institution.
