Hey everybody I'm new here and relatively new to the mac world. A couple months ago I got an emac which was my first mac and now I'm in love so I'm wanting to upgrade to a g5 or maybe a dual g4 but my main question is about displays. I love huge displays and I want the display to be hdtv ready so I'm sure you're saying well the 23" hd monitor is your decision which I would like to get but since it will probably be replacing my regular tv I want one bigger. I know there is a rumor about 30" displays but I was wondering if a plasma hdtv monitor will work for a mac to use as it's display also. I know this could be a stupid question but if you have any other idea's let me know, also let me know what your idea's of the best time to buy a new tower. after macworld?? Thanks in advance
Josh

Wait until macworld on the tower.
As far as a plasma screen goes, I don't know how useful they are as a computer monitor, they tend to be very fuzzy when you are closer than optimum viewing distance, at least in my opinion.
What do you use the computer for?

Yesterday’s AppleInsider gives pretty reliable dates for what’s coming. Looks good for the future!
http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=260.
Reading between the lines, my guess is that the current 1.6 SP will become a 2.0ghz SP, same motherboard, price and config. The current 1.8DP will become a 2.2DP, same price. And the 2.0DP will become either a 2.4 or 2.6 DP, same price. These will probably be announced in early-mid January with shipping beginning 4-8 weeks later. Then we will see another, even more significant upgrade in late spring to mid summer.
Of course, we know that, no matter when you buy, within a couple of months of buying, Apple will be selling more powerful machines for less than what you paid. But that shouldn't put a damper on your pleasure and pride in owning and using a great machine.

I use my computer for some games, internet, writing papers, and using soundtrack for recording. My main question is if I can get a monitor that will work for both my tv and my computer monitor, but I would like it to be pretty big so what are my options? thanks.
