I'm looking into getting an iBook in the spring, but there was something I've been wondering about.

At college I use a microcontroller development board, that connects to a PC using a serial cable, and there is a program used to transfer data back and forth between the two.

Since there are no serial ports on the iBook (maybe serial DB15 was never used by Apple, I don't know), I would like to be able to use a USB to serial connecter to interface the two, and use Virtual PC to run the software (which is a rather simple program).

In theory, would this work properly or be a disaster?
