Anyone have any experience with MacMice's "The Mouse"? It looks like the two button mouse Apple should have made.

and if Apple made a two button mouse people would be complaining that ...
  • it didn't have a scroll wheel
  • it only had two buttons
  • it wasn't available in the colour they wanted
  • the click was too noisy
  • they had stolen the idea from someone else and were putting them out of business without giving credit

Apple only make a one button mouse. This is sufficient to operate MacOS for most people. People that use the more advanced features can go an buy the multi-button mouse of their choice and use it. Compared to the cost of buying a system/OS mice are cheap.

The Apple mouse is great for those in nursing homes and in kindergarten class with limited motor skills... but for anyone seriusly using a computer a multi button mouse with scroll wheel is a must have.

The logitech2 button scroll is around 20 bucks at Staples.

I think that mouse is sweet. There is a limited edition black version too.

I think Apple should at least make a 2 or 3 button Mouse as an option for the Professionals. We have all those exciting apps like Maya and they make extensive use of a 3 or 3 button Mouse.
Come on Apple do something to make us Happy. I don't think anybody will complain if there is an option to choose from.

Isnt this the mouse sold by some cook that rips off other companies? You can also get that macmice unit for $9 on other websites.
15" PB/1.25 G4/1gb ram/80gb hd/Superdrive
+ special screen with white spots AND dimmer right side than left. 2 Keyboard replacements, warping Al case wobbles on a flat table, squeeks when typing...etc.etc.etc. Superb!

Yes it is. Check out Macintouch for a full report.

Definitely shop around. I bet you will find that mouse somewhere for much cheaper.
