I personally love my Nokia 3650, but some people don't like the size. I don't mind it at all, plus it has a boatload of features and the good Series 60 OS.

I'm fond of the Siemens S55 (I think it's S56 in the States).

The Sony Ericcson 616 is significantly better, based on reports from people I know who have used the t68i and the 616.

The problem is probably AT&T. Their GSM network is pretty poor in the states.

I'll second what has already been said. The 3650 is nice if the size doesn't bother you. It isn't as massive as everyone says, but it's not really palmable/pocketable. The Siemens s55/56 is a nice option if you want something smaller, but it doesn't look as cool, and doesn't have the built in camera (it uses an attachment, which kind of negates the purpose). I have one, and love to yak about it, so I'll answer any questions.

I'll add that you should check out Howard's site, he reviews them all in depth.

I used both Nokia 7650 and Sony Ericsson Z600. I would have to say Sony Ericsson implementation of Bluetooth has been better than Nokia.

The build quality of Nokia has been drop by a fair amount for the last 2-3 years (it was a reliable mobile phone brand, not any more). I would say get Sony Ericsson phone a serious consideration (T610 or Z600 would be a good choice).

I've got two: the Nokia 3650 and the SE T610 (the T616 for AT&T). The Nokia is BY FAR a better phone. It's what I use at home as my permanent line. The T610 goes on the road because it's smaller. Both have decent BT implementations and work flawlessly with my Powerbook and Pocket PC.
