problem with nec 1300a and firewire enclosure

	heres the deal: i have a macpower firewire enclosure, which works fine with CD-ROM drives (to only other drive I'd at home), however if I put my nec 1300a dvd burner in the case, it dont works. promt after poweron the drive led starts fast to flash and even not stops after minutes. even the eject button dont works. I really dont know what the problem could be. merci in advance
