I know it's lame to post on New Year's Eve, but here goes anyway.

I fully charged my 3 week old 20GB iPod, took it out of the dock, put it to sleep via the Sleep command (I set the prefs to show Sleep on the main menu), and slipped it into the case. No one touched it for 3 days, and today I pulled it out. Battery was only at 50%.

Am I doing something wrong? The Sleep command is the same as holding down Play/Pause until the screen goes blank, yes? What is the proper way to turn off an iPod? Do I have a bad iPod battery (hurray for iPod AppleCare)?

One thing I have noticed with my iPod is that if you charge it, then leave it off for a day or so, the battery shows at 50%. Leave it on for a while and the battery meter will go up. I turned it on at 50% once (when it was really fully charged), and it played continuously for 9 hours (I believe 8 to 10 is max).
