Aarrgg, disaster!
During the re-decoration of my room the leg got broken off the back of my Apple 17" Studio display (this is being typed with it lent up against the wall behind the desk). It is well out of warranty so i took it apart to find the damage, a small 'T' shaped bit of metal has snapped.
I phoned Apple and they wont send the part out and want to do the repair themselves (humm let me see. small bit of metal shipped one way, or big, heavy & valuable LCD screen shipped 2 ways + labour) and the local Apple Centre are also reluctant to sell me just the part.
Anybody got any ideas about getting a replacement part in the UK.

You probably have three choices:

1. Pay for Apple to do it
2. Look for spares secondhand
3. Try and bodge it yourself

You might try inquiring of the following company to see if they might assist you:
<www.monitorexperts.com>, ph 714-995-0100, or ph 714-995-5960 (of course you would have to use international long distance prefixes), address: 8791 Winston Rd, Anaheim, CA USA 92804. They do repairs on Apple monitors, specifically Studio Displays, maybe they can send you the replacement part. Hope this helps you.
