I have a problem with a generic USB 1.1 housing and a 60 GB HD inside.

I have used the drive inside my iMac for about 1 year but now I have a 80 GB HD so I thought If I buy a external USB housing I can put the HD inside.

It all works but the one problem i have is when I have a transfer of more then 500 MB it shuts down. Like the USB connection is full or something... The red light on the drive (Writing) will not stop. So i have to shut down the drive before anything happens... complete lock out...

Could it be that I miss configured the jumpers on the drive? Or is this something that can't be done on a iMac?
