I'm looking to get an external firewire hard drive for my ti 20gig powerbook (I desperately need more space). Can anyone give me any suggestions on what to get? I'm looking at getting an 80 or 120 gig drive. Also, I have no idea how hard drives work, do you just plug it in and save it to the external drive? thanks...

Yes.. it is very simple.
Just plug the external HD into the FireWire port and you are all set. In Panther, there is an eject button for easy to unmount the drive.

Meanwhile, I'm selling a FireWire DriveDock by WiebeTech.. it is the fastest FireWire400 external solution anyway.
