Hi,

I have a 120GB Firewire Lacie D2 external HD

Someday, I will need more space...

Anyone knows If I can just open the case and replace the HD for a bigger one, like a 250GB, 300GB? Will it work?

My Hd has 2MB buffer....if I buy one with 8MB, there's some problem?

best regards

Guilherme

Yep. The d2s are fairly new, right? I'd think they have big drive support for 250+ gig drives and enough bus speed to deal with faster drives. On the Lacie site the d2 is listed as having support for up to 250 gig drives, but I'm thinking that number was merely the largest drive available when they made the release. You should be fine to install larger drives in your enclosure.

Here's the link to Lacie's product page: http://lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10022
