I exchanged email with HP support again yesterday, received the following response:
Thank you for your continued cooperation in addressing this issue. Your patience is very much appreciated.
Based on the details of your e-mail you are inquiring as to the availability of updated drivers for the OfficeJet 6110 for Mac OS 10.3
The most recent version of software is 6.0.7, which was released 2003-05-01. We do not have a release date for updated drivers. We realize it has been just over two months since the release of Panther (October 24, 2003) however since that time there have been two major releases to the operating system, versions 10.3.1 and 10.3.2. These releases have forced us to retest the drivers and have affected the release time.
Does this make any sense to anyone else? I don't recall reading anything about changes to printing in 10.3.1 or 10.3.2. HP is dragging their feet. I can state, with great confidence, that the 6110 is the last HP product I will ever buy.

HP drivers still work with my PSC 1210 as they did with Jaguar. They will come.

they will come, but i'm getting impatient. i can use the existing AIO driver directly with my powerbook, but I cannot use it via AEBS Rendezvous. Which is annoying, because connecting to the Powerbook means lots of little noises from my computer.

I can still print, but I can't fax or scan since upgrading to Panther. HP's excuses are completely bogus:
it has been just over two months since the release of Panther
So they're expecting me to believe that they never received any developer builds? Nonsense.

HP is ****ing pissing me off too. I have a photosmart 7550, and I cannot use ANY of the built in card readers with OSX! Yet they have the nerve to list it as mac compatible!
Anyone like to get together and file a lawsuit? I'm serious. This is like ford selling you a car where the power steering, brakes, A/C and radio only work on certain roads.
If they ADVERTISE the ****ing things as mac compatible, the f*cking features better work, am I right?!

Gimp print drivers will make it print, but that's it. I'm a little annoyed too.. I got Panther for my brother for Christmas, and now he can't use his HP 6110. I also have a PSC950 here, but I use an Epson Printer with my Mac 99% of the time. I hadn't tried the HP with my Powerbook since Panther came out and didn't realize that there were no drivers.
Maybe the HP-iPod deal with help them to become more interested in supporting the Mac platform.

For at least the hp psc 2410 all-in-one, there is an OS X driver on hp.com dated:
2003-12-30 Version 6.3.4
Just found it today while installing a 2410 myself. Installed it on Panther and it worked -- with one glitch -- I had to reboot to get rid of some communication errors and apparent hangs. But all seems to be working perfect after the reboot.

Fascinating that there's an updated driver for the 2410 (v.6.3.4), but HP's site still shows the most current driver for the 6110 as being v.6.0.7, released 2003-05-02. I wonder whether there's any difference in the drivers, or whether they're just certifying them separately for each model?

There were new drivers a couple of weeks ago for my PSC 2510 (Wired and Wireless ethernet all-in-one). For some reason it doesn't seem to realize that there's full black ink, but the windows client I have doesn't have a problem with it.

My HP printer (1210xi all-in-one) won't print with Panther if it's set to Plain/Inkjet paper. If you set it to photo quality paper, it prints just fine, even though it's still printing on plain paper, it just thinks it's photo paper. I don't know why one works and not the other, but HP claims it's the driver. >_<

By the way, i learned the hard way that the 7110 will not print from Jaguar or Panther if the ink cartridge is low. There is still ink in the cartridge, and nothing happens when you try to print -- no error!
You can disable the ink gauge, as described in the User Guide, and this will allow you to print again. I spent 2 hours on the phone with HP, and they didn't even know this.

I am using the HP 950 aio with panther, the latest driver that worked with Jaguar work with Panther with all the latest updates. I just wish they'd come up with a better, smoother interface.

The funny thing is that my printer said it was designed FOR Panther!
I didn't see how to disable the ink gague, could you tell me how to do it, I hope it works in the 2510.

i don't know if it will be the same on the 2510, but here's what it is on my 7110:
1. Press < and > at the same time, then release. These are the cursor keys.
2. On the keypad, press in order, 7, 8, 9 (for black) or 4, 5, 6 (for color).
3. When the prompt appears asking if you want to turn the ink gauge off, press 1 for Yes, or 2 for No.

So I was poking around the HP support site this morning, trying to remember the version number and release date of the current drivers for the 6110, and I discovered that HP released an update on 1/13/2004! And in spite of subscribing to the driver update emails (at the suggestion of HP support, no less), I was never notified of it. Here's the best part: The new release STILL doesn't officially support Panther. According to the release notes, the supported OSes are 10.1 and 10.2. Unbelievable!

Bummer. Call support and make them fix it for you. If they don't on the phone, they have a weekly conference call where they try to determine what problems really are bugs that need to be fixed and how large problems they are. Then they can hopefully decide to rev the driver.
Well, it's no consolation I'm sure, but my Mac OS X specific print cartridge error went away after the tech had me to a "semi-reset" (what the LCD said) on the AIO. Strange that fixed it though, since the windows version was happy.

This is curious. Both my brother and I have OfficeJet 6110 and are printing and scanning from Panther w/o problem (can't speak to faxing, never done it from the computer). I have a G4 733, TiBook and Pismo all running Panther- it's hooked up to the G4, which can print and scan, and shared to the others, which print just dandy. My brother has a pretty similar setup.
Panther was installed fresh on my G4- not an upgrade. Can't say how my brother installed it.
It's at home and I'm at work, so I can't give any details on driver rev's etc, but if I can be of help, let me know.

Paco is bitter about the loss of his .mac webpage. Image will return when his sadness lessens.

That is curious. I sent HP support an email yesterday inquiring about the new driver that was posted on 1/13. I'll post something when I hear from them.

OK, the driver for the 7110 finally came out today.
But it was a real let down. While I am happy that the driver now allows you to set draft and 2-sided prefs for printing to a shared printer, I am very disappointed that it doesn't support Rendezvous networking with an Extreme Base Station.
I contacted HP support, who are very nice and all, but they said it couldn't be done with the 7110, and no plans to fix it. They politely told me I could buy a Print Servere for $200!
I already bought the AEBS for $200 thinking I was killing 2 birds with one stone.
So I have resolved to sell my 7110 on eBay or whatever, and buy a 2510! The HP support guy said that you can network it with a Mac network wirelessly, but you have to start with a wired version, and then unwire it.
